Psychotherapist, DBT Specialist
Blake Gordon received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. She went on to receive her Masters of Arts in Counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM. Blake has worked extensively with children, families and adults in Northern New Mexico and is certified in Child Parent Psychotherapy. She is also a Registered Circle of SecurityTM parent educator. Additionally, Blake has been comprehensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and has completed a 2-part program aimed at using DBT with couples, parents, and families. DBT is a therapeutic modality that combines standard cognitive-behavioral techniques for regulating emotions and tolerating distress with mindful awareness, reality testing and acceptance. One of the most heavily researched evidence-based models, DBT has been shown to be effective in helping people manage ineffective eating behaviors resulting from stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and other emotional difficulties to enjoy and create “a life worth living.” Blake is excited to bring her passion for this treatment with her interest in nutrition, movement, and healthy lifestyle to the clients and team at Zephyrus.
